Icons can be found anywhere at anytime, you can find them on any interface, road signs, keyboards, etc. Icons help us better understand and interpret information. Not only in the real world but also on the digital world as well. Because Icons help us support content, it is important to understand how and why to use them.
For example, we don’t have problems to differentiate between a good-looking web design and an awful one. Yet, it can be hard to tell why one is better than the other. So when we look at the content of a website we look for readability, the main points and how easily we can read and process the information. That is where icons are essential & important to use.
Icons gives us a sense of direction and what to process, they provide content as a whole, they draw awareness, they strengthen readability, but above all icons can stand alone and become more than just an icon, it becomes a symbol and is embedded in us.
